School Uniform
School uniform requirements for our school.
The Department for Education strongly encourages schools to have a school uniform. This page sets out the school’s policy and approach on uniform and confirms the school’s commitment to providing value for money to parents and ensuring that no pupils is discriminated against due to their gender, disability, religion or belief, economic circumstances or social and cultural background.
The school uniform helps ensure that pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome. It protects pupils from social pressures to dress in a particular way; and nurtures cohesion, promoting good relations between different groups of pupils.
This policy follows the DfE statutory guidance, ‘Cost of school uniforms’, published November 2021 and takes account of the non-statutory guidance, ‘School uniforms’, published June 2023.
Our Local Governing Committee expect pupils to wear school uniform for the following reasons:
In order to make uniform affordable, we do not insist on school badges on any items. Donations of previously-warn items are taken to the village Red Cross shop on a regular basis to allow families to purchase nearly new items.
General Uniform Details
Shoes should be black and have a low heel.
Our PE kit consists of plain navy or black shorts of a suitable length and a jade t-shirt (items embroidered with the school logo can be ordered).
On your child’s PE days, please send them into school wearing their kit. If children do not have their kit, they will be given a spare one to wear within school.
For health and safety reasons children are not allowed to wear jewellery of any kind at school with the exception of a wrist watch. Smart watches that connect to the internet or can send/receive messages or photos are strictly prohibited. Haircuts should be of a smart appearance with no extremes of fashion and no unnatural colours. Long hair should be tied back, especially during PE.
More information about our school uniform can be found in our School Uniform Policy..
Sweatshirts, polo shirts, cardigans and PE T-shirts and tracksuits (all embroidered with the school logo) may be purchased from Tots to Teams, along with a choice of waterproof coats, navy PE shorts, PE bags, book bags, backpacks and iron-on name labels.
