Going Beyond the Classroom

A post in our latest news section.

Year 6 had a fantastic experience to enhance their P.E. learning. They visited the water sports activity centre where they could work as a team to row and built their confidence on the water. Everyone (Staff included) had an amazing day!

Year 2 visited Whickham Thorns Activity Centre too. They had the opportunity to climb on an interactive climbing wall, slide down the ski slope in snow-tubing, build and climb in crate stacking and learn new skills in bush-craft. They finished with a game of laser tag. They learned just how brave, confident and resilient they could be when faced with new challenges.

We have also had visits from Durham University Museum Service. Year 2 had the opportunity to handle and explore pre-historic artefacts. They impressed the visitors with the knowledge they already had and used this knowledge to investigate the fascinating objects. It really helped build our understanding. KS2 then had a visit to explore early civilisations.
