As we come to the end of another enriching Lenten and Easter season at All Saints’, I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to our wonderful community for the support, encouragement and generosity shown over recent weeks. This period is always an important one in our school calendar, offering our children time for reflection and faith-filled action. This year has been no exception and together, across Lent and Holy Week, we created something truly special.
Our Lenten journey began on Ash Wednesday, when pupils received ashes from Deacon Peter—a quiet but meaningful moment that helped set the tone for the weeks ahead. From there, children across the school embraced a range of opportunities for prayer, creativity and service. Weekly Rosary Club, Stations of the Cross, pupil-designed Prayer Stations and our Easter themed baby and toddler playgroup, all provided chances for families, parishioners and friends to join us in reflection. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces in school, strengthening the sense of unity that sits at our heart.
Year Five enjoyed a pilgrimage to Northumberland during Lent for their residential, visiting a range of spiritual and historical sites and Year Four spent two nights at the Youth Village having fun and developing their spirituality. Holy Week brought further highlights, including our ever-popular egg‑decorating event, a joyful Holy Week Assembly led by Year Five and Easter Mass celebrated with reverence led by our Year Six pupils. Year Five’s re-enactment of the events of Holy Week was powerful and emotional and our school Mass, centred around the theme of service, was uplifting and peaceful. We are proud to have children who are keen to put their faith into action.
A particular success this year was our Big Lent Walk, part of our Easter fundraising for CAFOD. From Nursery to Year Six, pupils took part with great energy. Thanks to your donations and encouragement, the children made a meaningful contribution to those in need, truly living out the values of compassion and service that Lent calls us to. We are proud to have donated a wonderful 769 to CAFOD.
On behalf of everyone at All Saints’, thank you for walking this journey with us. Your involvement—whether attending events, sharing our activities with others, or supporting our fundraising—reminds us how fortunate we are to belong to such a caring community.
