Friday 21st September
It’s been a super busy week in EYFS. Here is a little snippet of what we’ve been up to…
This week nursery have been focusing on ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. After reading the story, the children matched and sorted objects by size – large objects for Daddy Bear, medium-sized objects for Mammy Bear and small objects for Baby Bear.
They have also enjoyed singing ‘When Goldilocks Went to the House of the Bears’.
Nursery have continued to enjoy their Welly Wednesday sessions. This week the children have been exploring a variety of seeds and leaves that have fallen in the wind such as sycamore seeds.
The children have used their fine motor skills to peg the tarp to the rope to create a den. Some children decided to collect sticks and leaves to create a den for animals such as rabbits.
Moreover, the children have been listening carefully to sounds they could hear in our forest area. They heard lots of noises such as passing cars, birds and the wind!
Reception began their phonics lessons this week. Mrs Bryant and Miss Dawson have been so proud of the children’s fantastic efforts when reading and writing words. Keep it up!
It has been lovely to see children independently accessing maths activities in provision this week. A particular favourite has been a game of ‘snap’, spotting the matching pictures before their peers.
Well done everyone.
